Picked it up a couple of weeks ago after placing the order in mid January. It took about 5-6 weeks from order to delivery (was told that the hold up was due to the planned production run of 35i engines).

Prior to ordering, I spent a couple of weekends looking at a few others (including the Audi Q5, Acura RDX, JGC, X1, and X3...but decided on the X3 after a few minutes into the test drive

Here's what I got:
2013 X3 35i BSM/ Black interior/Stainless
Weather I/II
DHP
MSport
Premium
Tech
Sound
Apps

Received a pretty good deal from Northwest BMW (BMWDavid) in MD...and was able to take advantage of the holiday, customer loyalty, and two other BMWFS incentives.

So far, really enjoying the additional room and smoother ride (and no more worries about scraping the front end of the 335 after going over speed bumps or dodging pot holes to avoid bending the rims -- but I have to admit, I do miss the extra handling and performance).

Looking forward to contributing to forum...and very much appreciate the info and experiences in helping me make the decision!

Thanks!

Same color on both cars...but pictures taken at different times of the year.

Congrats !
I also been debating on the Q5 & 11+ X3 , but it looks the X3 might be a winner since I'm able to get it in my budget easier than the Q5

I liked the Q5 until I drove it...it seemed a little sluggish...especially after driving the X3 35i with dynamic handling and comparing second row seating room. However, the Nav in the Q5 may be better...but I really don't mind (the Nav in the X3 is still pretty good....much better than the Nav in our GMC Acadia which is really horrible). As far as pricing goes, I believe a fully loaded X3 may exceed the price of a fully loaded Q5. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you will be happy with either one (but if I were you, I'd pick the X3 .

Totally disagree about the NAV system... i had a B8 A4 (2013) for 2 years before we just got the X3... Same NAV as the Q5... The Entertainment system in the X3 destroys the Audi entertainment system, the Audi systems needs a major overhaul. The stereo/xm navigation is so dated & just so plain & blah... The Entertainment system It's not even in the same ball park.... The screen size is so much smaller, no album art, no split screen, no AD2P for bluetooth streaming, No BMW apps... I can go on & on & on if you want me too...

Hmmm... a fully loaded X3 35 is about $57k... when i priced out fully loaded Q5's i didn't get in that same area...

We drove them all & was disappointed in everything but the X3 & Audi in terms of driving.... but the X3 Entertainment was night & day better than Audi...

I hate to disagree with you but owning a 2010 B8 with Nav I preferred it's MMI compared to my X3, I thought it was easier and made more sense specially with wheel controls and what not, that being said the MMI with the nav package was superior to regular MMI, I'm not sure which one you experienced

Mmmm.. i guess we have to agree to disagree...hahaha....

Sounds like your specifically talking about NAV & I'm talking about the whole package deal.. I had a 2013 A4 with the prestige package & not one feature beats the X3 for me... Well i take that back.. the steering audio controls in which you could scroll through your playlist was a little better but that is it for me... The Google local search on X3 rocks.. i love using the BMW remote app to send the google searched destination from my Phone to my Car.... vs. having to scroll through & select all the letters...

Dude that plain red Stereo, XM & Ipod controls screen from Audi Nav screen couldn't be much more dated... they need a major refresh... (I had the color display on the speedometer so that was cool but the Heads up display on the X3 is awesome... love that feature. The screen size on the X3 is so much bigger.. I love that split screen option... Like I said.. we don't agree on this one but that's okay...

For sure a coupe is more dynamic than a SUV, but X3 35i is one of the most capable in its segment

I'm thinking about getting an 2012 or 2013 x3 3.5 for my wife. She drives maybe 4000 miles per year so a new car is a total waste (her words, not mine). Based on your posts, I trust you agree that a used x3 3.5, properly inspected, is a good choice?

She doesn't care a about the engine, but I have a 2014 328i and I'd get the 3.5 just to see what all the fuss is about!

when I did pcd on 04/20/15 I picked mine up with 2miles. as of today it has almost 20,000 miles. lol. I don't think ill have to much trouble hitting my 120,000mile goal in a few years. my next bimmer is going to be a diesel. but any ways yeah just make sure its properly inspected and well cared for and I think its a great choice. but ill tell ya I really do love my 4 cylinder. its such an amazing engine.

It's been a great car. As I recall, there is a noticeable difference in "ease of power" between the 28i vs the 35i (take a look at a thread on this topic, I believe I saw one that was posted recently). If I had to pick the features that I enjoy most, it would have to be the steptronic transmission with DHP (comfort setting really smooths out the drive on rough roads...yet manual shifting in sport mode really transforms the car). On the other hand, my wife's favorite features has got to be the heated seats and the navigation.i
