OK, it was enough with the X6. The thing is badass...but I'm just tired of every car company making random crossovers. So now we're gonna have the X1, X3, X4, X5, and X6? Thats a lot of X, and in my mind..any more than three Xs' is too many. BMW has been my favorite automobile company since I was 8...I have never, and plan never to drive any other make of vehicle..but lately...I really don't know where the hell their mind is. They keep claiming to be a performance oriented company, and then make these abominations. If they wanna make niche cars..I think they need to return to high-end sports cars..and BRING BACK THE M1...(haha, wishful thinking for the time being I know)or make the current M cars a little bit bigger of force to be reckoned with. And DAMN..enough with these fugly vehicles. X needs to stop at 6 IMO.

i completely agree with you, 10000% right, BMW stop making SUV's or SAV's as you call it and start making better or more regular sedan/coupe/luxury sedan vehicles, enough with this X shit that your feeding us, or just name your self a freaking SUV company and everyone will know, not to expect anything other than a gigantic line of X vehicles from your gigantic factories. |

i heard this news before. I think that if the car is smaller, then the whole shape will make more sense. now X6 look like a waste. Make it diesel and it's a slam dunk for school run.

You're like the old guys sitting on the porch saying it was the end when the corvette adding air conditioning, get over it. BMW will be making a lot of new models and many will be crossover (X type) vehicles because that's what sells. With the economy going the way it is people are looking to replace multiple vehicles with one and crossovers fit that mold. Oh and most will be made in America land of "dumb Palin, Insane McCain ,socialist Obama and lobbyist bought Biden" and no one cares.

It is obvious my very bad Z4, M3, M5/6 sales, the BMW customers are not the car enthusiasts they once were. They are evolving. BMW just has the balls to meet customer needs while others are still trying to figure it out.

I was talking today with somebody and the person expressed his fedding up with all the SUVs around the city, like we are in a war zone and the huge vehicles are our military moving gear. I told him that the X6 is not another SUV but a tall sedan coupe with an 4x4 trans. It's the way you view things. . .

Ok, first I must ask...What is the relativity of a Vehicle getting a now standard option, to a car company following the trend everyone and their brother is? Are you trying to say just because someone doesn't view these new models as a good thing. that they are afraid of change? That's some of the worst logic I've heard in a long time. Anyone REALLY hurting due to the way the economy is at the moment, WON'T be purchasing ANY brand new Bmw, whether it be Car or SUV. ESPECIALLY if their main concern is gas prices and getting from point A to point B in a ECONOMICAL fassion...So your defense for them expanding the X line BECAUSE of that is flawed. Also, There is nothing wrong with you liking all the X models coming out (you are obviously BIAS considering you own one it seems), just as there is nothing wrong with myself (I am bias as well because BMW did not build itself making SUVs, it built itself making driver oriented CARS), and others thinking that BMW is losing it's way because of said models (It pains me to even speak those words). And as much as you might not like to see anyone "dogging" on your SAC (or whatever pronoun BMW pulled out of their ass this time), during your little circle-jerk-for-X-models, someone is always going to have a different opinion. This is also a public forum for people to express their feelings, so deal with it. Oh, and let me assure you, even with our political dilema of the present, the BMWs that come out of Spartanburg will be top shape..because I don't care what you say..BMW, even though thousands of miles from Munich, keep a tight ship all the way over here in the little ol' south. Btw, I think you might of quoted the wrong person, while caught up in your attempt at a profound analogy. His quote had nothing to do with the past two posts made above. The person you quoted ACTUALLY seemed to be okay with this new X-model..but instead you pointed him out as if he was on the other side of the fence...just a thought.

Interesting thread. The root seems to be some folks afraid of change.
I wonder what folks thought decades ago when the Isetta or 2002 went way. Or when BMW introduced the 5 and 7 series. Or when Mercedes Benz started making heavy transportation trucks. Put yourselves in BMW's shoes. What am I going to sell the next few years and to whom?

How some people cannot understand - the key word here is three cars in one! The space of a sports convertible, weight and mileage of an SUV and sex appeal of an econobox. Perfect!

I would buy this car..... of course have to wait and see what it is going to end up looking like.
If it looks like the X6 - then hell yeah. Makes sense to me - I have an e92 335 right now and I would love to have a bit of off-road capability (to go to the beaches etc) but not lose the sporty drive. |

I was expressing my opinion (as are all posts here) but apparently you only allow that for people that agree with you. Someone else can comment on your Freudian slip. |
