Hello all!

I'm new to this forum, having recently purchased a BMW X3 E83.

I'm curious if anyone can offer some help / advice / experience with aftermarket android screens, in particular the ones which replace the centre storage compartment on the dash?

There are a few options out there, on eBay, AliExpress, et cetera. There are basically 2 types that I've found, one is a 9" screen and one is a 10.25" screen. The various brands are Junsun, AvinUSA, Xtrons and Aycetry (at least, they're the ones I'm considering).

The alternatives to fitting one of these would be a) an aftermarket head unit, b) an audio only solution such as GROM or Dension or c) I could keep using a Bluetooth receiver to the AUX. The only problem with the last option is the Bluetooth module built in to the car is faulty and repairing it would cost around $800 allegedly. So currently my solution for music is the Bluetooth receiver into the AUX but I don't have a solution for phone calls.

In terms of cost, a screen would cost from $300 AUD TO $800 AUD, and an aftermarket head unit would also be in that range. A GROM or Dension unit (audio/phone calls only) would cost around $350 AUD.

If anyone has tried any of these options, could you please let me know your experiences and also feedback on what brands and products you bought?

I had good luck with the Andream unit in my 135i. I'm planning on picking up this set up for my new to me e83.
