X3 M Spy Photos

For anyone interested, the next generation X3 M was spotted in Germany. Full article with photos is available here: http://www.bmwblog.com/2016/04/25/bm...st-spy-photos/

A little confused by the BMW model designation system. The article say this is a M version of the next generation G01 X3 but then says that the BMW number for the X3 M is F97. I'd have thought it would be a "G" number.

It would seem that the next set of M cars even though G platform will be using F9X designation.

The prototype indicates very limited design-upgrade. This is a risky business - too little and too much could mean disappointed customers.

New architecture with 100 kg weightreduction is very good.

Although difficult to concretely decipher through the camo, it appears that the new design retains the light assembly touching the grill styling of the F25 LCI, love it or hate it.

The new model looks more evolution than revolution. Not sure it will be enough to tempt me away from my current version, come 2018
