3.0 x3 diesel, pour mpg

Was woundering if anyone could help, ive got the 3.0 d msport x3 and since ive had it serviced the mpg has gone from a steady 29mpg right down to 24 mpg.
Has this happened to anyone else out there?

Probably nothing to do with servicing, unless something unusual has happened.

I'd start with the ECT (engine coolant temperature). Low ECT due to thermostat issues is common and can impact on mpg. Check via the hidden menu for accurate running temperature. Needs to be around 90C.

If ECT is fine, look for EGR valve function, (if power delivery is OK), as a sticking EGR valve can also impact on mpg.
