Has anyone applied this? Any feedback in terms of it being necessary?

3M window tint or 3M clear Bra?
3M Crystaline Window tint has good heat rejection. I think it has a cloudy look to it compared to other tints. 3M clear bra is a great option for protecting your front end. It looks better on darker cars. I have put it on white and it does have a slight yellow tint to it. But it does keep your FE looking newer longer. It is warrantied for 5 yrs. If it gets beat up (vs your paint) you can have it pulled off and reapplied. Prices vary tremendously. Dealers will charge $800 to $1000. I think a really low price is $500. |

I think that it is the only option for front end protection at this point. I called Colgan and they don't make a bra for the new X3 yet. I requested that they make one. Maybe if they get enough requests they will come out with an X3 bra soon. I had the clearbra on my '04 350Z roadster. The car was grey and it looked O'K. The problem I have with the clear bra is that it needs to be changed when it takes a good hit and tears. Then it looks like crap. When I got one it had no warranty. I do a lot of highway driving and pick up a lot of nicks from debris on the road.
