Retrofit the latest headunits

Anyone know how to retrofit the latest head units with touch pad into a 2013 x3 with the current predecessor to the latest units? Can it be done?

from what i learn with bmw vehicles any retrofit is expensive and im sure it can be done once parts are available online. i use getbmwparts.com. removing dash board wont be easy theres alot of wires behind it and other elec. components.

The touch/non-touch controller speak on different buses: the non-touch uses a low-speed bus and the touch version uses the body electronics high-speed bus. They are incompatible and cannot be easily retrofitted without ripping up your wire harness and (possibly) swapping the ZGW too.
