Tire Deal

OK, got a pretty wicked deal from Tire Rack. Bought a set of 19" Dunlop SP Sport Max TT summer tires and 19" Dunlop Winter Sport 3D winter tires for a total of $2k. Got rebates of $310 for an average price of $211 per tire; not too shabby.

How long can you store the new tires for? I was thinking of buying one set of runflats when i have to replace them.

Tires can sit for many years with no issues, especially if kept in the dark and preferably wrapped in opaque plastic. If they just sit in the garage, 3 or 4 years is normal before you will notice any changes.

Tires older than 6 years are suspect...

I'm a chemical engineer Don, 6 years based on what? It really depends upon how they're stored.
