Location of the RDC module?

Does anyone know the location of the RDC module?
that's the module that receives the signal from the TPMS sensors in the wheels

mine is bad, and I have a TPM error, and I can't reset the TPMS

it says "drive moderately" on the screen, so I need to get this fixed ASAP

No one has any idea where this module is located?
Mine is faulty and I'm trying to read the part number off of it, to replace it
I googled the part and there about 40 different modules!

@kmarei , what year is your car?
Are you sure is the RDC module, not the TPMS itself?
FYI, TPMS battery usually last about 5 years once installed.

dealer said it was the RDC module
I doubt the TPMS sensors would all go bad at the same time
I just want to find the existing module so I replace it with the same part number
it looks easy enough to install
just one plug

It normally inside the fender for the fronts and under the trunk panel or inside the fender for the rears on the receiver.
But the module itself, it is either in the right side trunk or passenger side kick panel.

I checked both the right side and left side of the trunk
right side has the fuse panel (also checked all the fuses)
left side has the audio amp and another silver module, but its not the RDC module
I also checked underneath the trunk floor
a few modules, but not the RDC one

only place I haven't checked is the back of the trunk
basically the back side of where the bumper attaches
will check passenger kick panel

Go ahead check the back side inside the trunk, the opposite side of the bumper.
If I remember correctly, my F06 and F10 RDC module was located there.

kmarei, I am unable to access the original source but info I obtained a while back from an F25 training manual related to TPMS, had the statement as below, though it is still a bit vague. Also, it stated ….”The service life of the batteries installed in the wheel electronics is roughly 7.5 years"

...."The high frequency signals received are evaluated in order to determine whether the wheel electronics are at the front or rear axle. The TPM control unit with integrated receiver is mounted in the outer area of the luggage compartment well above the rear axle. The level of the signals received by the TPM control unit from the wheels on the rear axle is higher than the level of signals sent by the wheel electronics on the front axle. Found it!
after looking everywhere inside the trunk
I saw a post about another BMW and it was underneath the car
so I went underneath the X3
and sure enough
its right there
just to the left of the passenger side rear tire
can't believe BMW of Sterling wanted $900 in Labour to replace it
it took me about 30 seconds to unclip the plug, and slide the module out

Wow good find, I have to buy a new one. Scumbag dealership only refilled my tires with air and said nothing is wrong with it. The TPM Fault still comes on every 2-3 days or so for about 5 mins, then disappears. So I'm sure its on the fritz.

Bringing this one back from the dead. Can you confirm of it was just plug and play? Or did the dealer need to program? I need to replace mine as well.

I never replaced it
Apparently BMW have made about 3192 different versions of this.
That all look identical
And at $300 I wasn't in the mood to buy it, only to find out I have to go to the dealer who will charge me more than it would have cost to program it, than if I had bought the module from him, to teach me a lesson.
So now I've gone old school and check my tires once a month with an analogue tire pressure guage

Same, dealership refuses to change it under my extended warranty unless the message shows up AT the dealership. Which is BS because they can pull the codes and it will show that the TPS Malfunction warning goes off every 10-20 miles or so. But it still comes on every now and then, after a few mins it goes away. I'm not spending $300 just for the stupid message to go away.

I received the below error messages this week and they're not going away:
iDrive: Tire Pressure Monitor Malfunction
Dash: TPM Malfunction: Drive Moderately

The tires have not been changed. Tire pressure level is okay. I cannot reset the TPMS.

I found the RDC Module in the rear fender, pulled it out and connections looked clean. Reconnected. Checked fuse in rear hatch and it tested for continuity with ohm meter.

I assume it is the RDC Module - but hate to buy a new one if it was a single sensor. Any thoughts? Would a single bad sensor bring up the same whole system malfunction?

FYI - instead of replacing my RDC module, I ended up disabling the TPMS system this weekend via VO coding and enabling the flat tire monitor (wheel speed sensor based instead of TPMS based). This seems to be working (knock on wood).

The sequence I followed was as follows:
I removed 2VB from the FA.
I then VO Coded ICM, KOMBI, HU_CIC, and DSC.

All works with no errors. I have Flat Tire Monitor Active. I did not disconnect the RDC Module (you can't just pull the fuse for TPMS in the X3 as this gave me DMTL errors which were on the same fuse).

As everything was working fine with no errors I just left the RDC module connected. Hopefully this will not lead to having problems later......

Finally replaced my RDC module
Found one on ebay with the same exact part number
Same sw version
It was actually made the day after my original one
Plugged it on today, and it worked fine
No need for reprogramming or anything

So I guess take your faulty rdc module out
Get the exact part number and make sure the sw version matches
And you should be good to go

Cost me $60
Instead of $900 at BMW of sterling , VA

BMW of sterling quoted $950 to replace the RDC.
How did you find out the software version for the RDC ?

well
I might be totally wrong
but I assumed the number at the top right was the software version
SW02.07.01 in this case
this is the one I got, which matched my original faulty one

first thing you do is to remove your existing one and take a picture to match the below picture
then you can search ebay for a matching one

next thing I want to do is to do the software coding so I can see the pressure of each wheel
