Struts for hatch lift replaced.

Just had the electric struts replaced under warranty before it runs out the end of the month. I don't even remember the original ones being this quiet when the X3 was new in 2012.

What kind of noise were they making that prompted the authorization to replace them under warranty? Curious as mine seem noisy but I bought my 2013 used and don't have anything to compare them to.

Mine developed a bit of a grinding noise prior to one failing. Both were replaced under warranty.

Grinding as the previous post mentioned. The new ones are almost silent.

I had a similar grinding noise developing in my driver's side folding mirror. Both were replaced under warranty.

Both sides of mine were replaced after warranty.
