Guide to replace front shocks?

Has anyone replaced the front shocks (with EDC) on their X3 F25?
Is there a guide somewhere?

Thanks

Wouldn't you have to replace all 4 and code it?

BMW has some funny rules - to earn money? - but it should be possibel to exchange front shocks only.
I don`t see why EDC should be coded.

When I installed H&R springs - all around, I got an offer from BMW dealer of 6 hours and £600. My car has EDC.
Local shop- takes on "all" cars- run by two 60+ gentlemen did it for 4 hours and £300, which indicates fairly easy job and no coding. They commented on it being easy because of no corrosion.

Electronic Damper Control. I.e. 12V creates a magnetic field, which makes the fluid "stiffer".

Invented by GM R&D about 20 years ago and developed/ marketed by DELCO/Delphi

Hi,

I already have EDC (Electronic Damper Control) in my Car.
One of the front shocks is leaking and needs to be replaced.

I think I would need to change only this one and don't think any coding would be required.

Just looking for 'how to' guide on replacing the strut. Thanks.

I would search for the ISTA+ application. It has the workshop manuals in it for what you need.

Yes, if you have the SQLiteDBs it will contain pretty much ALL the service manuals up to a certain date for all vehicles. That's why it's anywhere from 50-60gb. The Bentley Service Manuals take directly from it.

You will probably want all the necessary preliminary tasks, but I've included these to give you a preview.

Wow.. thank you so much.
Do I need to download the entire 60gb package or just the SQLiteDBs would be sufficient? That's about 10GB.

Thanks.

For diagnostics, you just need the ISTA+ Rheingold and the SQLiteDBs.

The 60gb package includes the PSdzData Full which is needed to firmware flash and code via ISTA+ your car provided you have an BMW ICOM A2 clone which is about $300.

If you have a ~$20 ENET cable, you will be able to do all of the diagnostics. If you want to flash, you'll need to do it via E-Sys.

I wish the X3 forum was as active as the F3x forums.
