Is the Tire/Wheel warranty in NYC worth it?

Just about to collect my X3 tomorrow from the dealer. It's coming with 19" wheels and tires and I'm debating the warranty option.

The package is for 5 years at $2500 and covers all but cosmetic damage and is unlimited.

If you're not from here, NYC and Brooklyn roads are 3rd world country quality so I'm seriously debating on whether to purchase the warranty or not? My previous BMW only had 16" wheels but I've hit some pretty serious holes but none have burst the tires. Some were so bad I was completely surprised that it didn't but no punctures. All of my rims are dented but only to the point to where I can't get them balanced anymore but no cracks or visual dents...

Thoughts?

$2500 for 5yrs NO you can do better be more aggressive; either way if you having run flats don't get their coverage you can get better tires , cheaper, and warranty thru TireRack

I paid $1225 including NJ tax $50 deductible on my X3 28i 19's i had.
I paid $1500 for 5yrs $0 deductibles on my X4 M40i 20's

For $2500 you could buy a front and rear wheel (if staggered like mine), and take the wife on a weekend away.
Not worth it imo

I agree that the price is high. I paid about $1750 for each of mine and my wife's. For the X3, it may not in fact be necessary, because the tires are not as low profile as on other vehicles. For my M235, the package has already almost paid for itself in 15 months. The biggest problem is kerb rash, which I have had repaired 3 times, no questions asked. I also had one tire replaced.
One advantage is that the dealer asks no questions. Maybe the tire could have been repaired, but if insured, it is easier for them to just replace it and bill the insurer.
As for RFTs, that is what the car has. If you don't like 'em, you can spend $2000 on tires and either carry a spare or a kit or just worry all the time. Not worth it to me.

I live in Brooklyn! For $2500 is crazy! I also have 19inch rims. I have the t&w insurance when I got my car back in 2013. I've used it twice due to stupid nails in the tire which I could have got patched as I noticed them early. I paid $1500 for mine 5years no deductible third party company. It's not worth it if I had to do it all over again. Keep in mind if the tire and rim still holds air but it's bent out of shape the warranty won't cover that!

Also forgot to mention it takes awhile for the dealer to give you your car back as they must get payment from the insurance company before releasing the car back to you if it's from a third party! Both times I had to get new tires it took about 3 hours! What a waste of time! But if you bought the t&w insurance that is BMW sponsored which is more expensive and a $50 deductible then the dealer usually gives you the car back right away.
