So what's the official word
I've seen and read different things on the internet and various forums.
Can the US expect a X3 diesel in 2014? If so, when - 1st, 2nd quarter? If so, what will the engine be? Finally, when does the X3 LCI arrive in the US. Thanks.

Some terminology clarification. The 2014 MY (Model Year) vehicles started production 4/1/2013 and will end production 3/31/2014. MY 2015 vehicles will start production 4/1/2014 and will probably cease production on 3/31/2015.
MY 2015 cars will have the LCI. MY 2015 will most certainly have the touchpad controller on the iDrive. Engine availability for MY 2015 will be announced when they announce the MY 2015 specs, probably in the next month or so. MY 2014 lineup was announced in January 2013, so I would expect MY 2015 models, engines, options, etc. to be announced in January 2014. The LCI will "arrive" in the US on 4/1/2014 since all X3 are built here If you pre-order in Feb or March, one of those first ones could be yours
