Lightbulb E83 wheels on F25 did not fit !

Picked up E83 wheels and winter tires from salvage yard ( nice and gorgeous tire rack sports edition wheels) hoping they would for on my 2011 F25. Many threads on this forum suggest that they should fit . I also got new bolts ( M14x1.25) from tirerack . Alas they did not fit. - Calipers were too tight ( absolutely no clearance) and the wheel did not move at all. What am I missing ? Thought about wheel spacers and asked a local BMW indy about probable size of wheel spacers. He could not help either.

Technical details :

Basic wheel specifications for the X3(F25) chassis are:
Bolt Circle = 5 X 120mm
Offset = 45mm (43 to 47mm acceptable)
Hub centering Bore = 72.5 mm (hub ring dia. = 72.47mm)
Bolts = M14X1.25 Spherical seat, 17 mm heads (Note the X3(E83) uses M14X1.5 bolts)
Minimum bolt engagement = 9.5 turns

For E83 all same except the bolt sizes

Bolt Pattern: 5x120 | Center Bore: 72.56 | Hardware:12x1.50 Bolt | Offset: 34-45mm

==============

Also, I could see the wheel after mounting it that it not flush against the hub , where as my OEM wheels are!.

Thoughts , before I put wheel and tires on craigslist.

I'd definitely try some small spacers man if that's all the issue is, as long as the offset will look proper.

Is the "look" you refer to more important than proper fit?

Just returned from a skiing trip to the Alps and saw an F25 parked at the side of the road with E83 Style 143 and winter tyres. Obviously I couldn't tell whether it had spacers or not.

When you say the calipers - do you mean the wheel isn't big enough(diameter problem - e.g. 17s won't fit a 35d but 18s will) or the spokes are catching(offset problem)?

spokes are catching(offset problem). I guess I would have to do my due diligence of doing all measurements and order some wheel spacers.

Thanks - are you using OEM wheels?
