Snowboard racks for 2011 X35i
Hi Folks,
I have a 2011 BMW x3. I wanted to know your folks opinion on the best roof mounted snowboard racking solution for the X3. My X3 has the flush type satin aluminum rails. I checked online and Yakima has the quietest load bars called whispbar, but they say that it doesn't fit X3's. Does anyone have pictures of their racking solution and some suggestions on brands? Its pretty confusin g with so many types, like dedicated one made by thule and inno, I am completely lost. Greatly appreciate it. |

Look at my thread about half a page to one page down called "Thule Aeroblade who has used..." I posted a photo of my crossbars. IMO the best snowboard carrier is the Thule pull top, especially for taller vehicles. Keep a lookout for their latest model released in 1-2 weeks. Only diff is the locking feet.

I had a complete Thule-based system for two bicycles (along with front wheel attachments) as well as the ski/snowboard carrier for my 2008 335XI. When I bought the 2011 X3 35i, all I had to do was purchase a new fit kit to attach to the roof rails (about $80). I was able to re-use everything else. The fit kit does not appear to leave any marks on the roof rails.
