New X3 2.8i - rubber window gaskets
Picked up a new 2011 Space Grey X3 2.8i today. Factory ordered with just a few options:
Nav Heated front seats Park Distance control The rubber gaskets around and at the bottom of the side windows seem to be scratched and spotted and generally messy. Don't know if this was caused by dealer prep or if it is just residue from the factory. Not worth the trip back to the dealer, bit anyone else seen this? Any suggestions on the best way to clean it? Thanks |

Yep, it's generally crappy on mine too. Cleaning fixed it. I guess that is why Mercedes covers their gaskets in "cloth." The 328i LCI I had before this X3 had its gaskets covered in a velvet like material, so no scratches showed. I think the flaws, etc. are inherent to the rubber itself and not necessarily due to the factory or build quality.

Mine arrived at dealer on 5th April, but I am out of town and have other business priorities to take care of all of this week, also my x3 diff event is coming up on 4/12, hence planning to take delivery on 4/14, will post the group with some space grey pictures as soon as I take delivery.
