Bastards stole tie-down covers..wtf?

Walked out to my 35i MSport last week, and noticed the rear tie down covers on the back bumper we're missing! Why would anyone want these, unless theirs were stolen? Bad Karma! Stopped by my body shop and they can order OEM replacements for about $6 each, but they're not painted; That will cost $45. Not the end of the world but a pain nonetheless. Shop owner says removal of the covers is not needed after vehicle is delivered, so I'm planning to hot-glue the replacements into place. Perhaps a good tip for all...

Seems as if other people don't like it when you have nice things.

Aren't those the positions where the screw-in tow fitting screws in?

Yea... I'd stay away from hot glue on those. IF ANYTHING, maybe a little bit of duct tape on the underside of the caps. That sucks though.

Had this happen on my previous space gray 328 convertible.

Buy the new parts for $6 bucks a piece and ask your BMW body shop to spray them, the next time they are working on a car the same color as yours. My dealership does this as a courtesy.

Are you located in the Lincoln Park area? I keep seeing an MSport in that color near my apt building.

Most likely just random vandals. I doubt someone "needed" them. Hopfully karma will visit upon their most cherished posession or loved one.

Hope the replacements go on easy and look like the stock. Can't believe someone would steal those.

We used the valet around the corner from perennial virant a couple weeks ago, but otherwise don't hang up there often. We're in Ukrainian Village..
