Electric Tailgate weird behaviour

So it goes like this:

1. If I close the tailgate by pressing the button on the tailgate, it slams the lid like you wouldn't believe, it doesn't do that "soft close" thing so it doesn't slam. Horrible, it sounds like it's gonna break something.

2. If I close the tailgate via the button on the remote, on the key, it closes the lid smoothly, engaging that soft close so it doesn't slam.

Why this difference, is it normal or what could be wrong? I have zero error codes.

thanks.

AFAIK, the hatch closing speed should be no different whether pushing the button on the hatch, drivers kick panel or keyfob. I slowed down the speed of mine so it doesn't slam as hard and it now soft closes with all 3 buttons.

Here's the thread I started which includes the values I used, YMMV.
