Bought it from kubax86 above - easy to download, faultless instructions and very easy to install on my car!

I just joined this forum and not sure how exactly to reach out kubax86, but I also want to unlock apple car play. I do not have an antenna yet (ordered one though through ECStuning) and the car was not setup for car play from the factory. What do I need to do to get it unlocked? Thanks

I have a 2018 X2 with all the required hardware pre installed, but no Apple CarPlay preparation.

I have 8.8in screen, wireless charging, wireless hotspot, teleservices, 6UP navigation, etc.

Can/will dealers still enable CarPlay?

What are my other options?

How do non-dealers get FSC code?

I’ve heard of a tele-services SIM provisioning method that is supposedly cheaper. What is that?

It is posible, but I’ll encourage you to be carful with two things:
1. Buy the original wifi antena, I bought the Chinese one and it was disconnecting continuously. With the one one, it works with no faults.
2. If you ar planning to code additional features with BimmerCode on the head unit, you won’t be able to do it after installing CarPlay!! That was a big mistake for me, I now want to activate de wheel temperature in the Tpms and I get an error saying that the unit is not compatible…

If any of the experts on the forum can tell me how to fix mi issue I’ll really appreciate it.

Interesting that you posted this. I recently had full screen CarPlay actuvated on my car via remote coding, and now when using BimmerCode I can’t code anything in idrive and get the same message. I can code everything else ie seatbelts, lighting etc, but nothing for idrive. I haven’t gotten around to messaging the company who did the remote coding to see if they have a remedy.

I see I’m not the only one

The company that did mine is offering their services in this post, I contacted them and they don’t offered any solution other than recode the headunit to the original software… which I don’t know how to do it and neither have to tools to do it.

I’ve nothing bad to say about them, CarPlay is working great!!! So they did their job

Buy I will appreciated some notice about loosing the options to code IDrive after installing CarPlay, if so… I’ll do the changes first and then CarPlay.
