2016 TPMS on 2011?

I found a set of wheels and tires in great shape for my wife's 2011 X3 35i
But they are from a 2016 X4
Did the TPMS change from 2011 to 2016?
If so I will have to swap the old ones into the new wheels
But the batteries on the old TPMS sensors are 8 years old, can you replace them or is it better to just get new sensors?
Anyone know of a cheaper after market brand that works?
I have the mod where I see temperature and psi on the Idrive screen, and I love that
Don't want to lose that with the new sensors
Also, how much can I get for the 2016 sensors if I can't reuse them?
Thanks!
