UK- All Season Tyres for X3
Hi UK X3 drivers,
I noticed that a few postings from the USA mention that All Season tyres come as standard- I presume in states where they get regular snow. My stock 17" Dunlops (225/60 R17 99V) are probably due to be replaced within 6 months, but I can't seem to find suitable All-Season tyres in the UK. Does anyone know if any are stocked in the UK? Also are the All-Season tyres suitable for driving in European countries which have a Winter Tyre law i.e. Austria and Germany? PS I know All Season tyres are also called 'No Season' tyres |

You would be far better getting a second set of rims and running winters in the winter. All seasons are a compromise all year hence the 'No season' name.
You can get a decent set of second had rims for under 200 quid on ebay. |

I used to have Pirelli Scorpion STR M+S as my winter tyres and found them good and OK for UK only use, but ultimately no where near as good as the 'proper' winter tyres I changed to - Michelin Alpin - which are far better in a wet UK winter and justify the investment on our Alpine skiing trips as well.
