Got bored, bought a collectible Miata
So as usual didn't know what else to do so looked for collectible cars, came across this 1990 Mazda Miata, 50,000 k on it, never seen snow or rain, garaged always, original paint an everything else.
Had no idea how much fun Miata could be. Can't wait to take it on a trip |

Dig the car itself though |

Might want to remove the beauty bar too, they do make a good guillotine. Look at Hard Dog roll bars if you want an actual safety device and some stiffening. 90's didn't have much frame bracing either. You can add the rear brace and front subframe brace from the 94+ cars pretty cheaply. Enjoy, great little cars.

Absolutely amazing little cars. They would out handle any m235i in miata stock form. Also have 50/50 weight distribution similar to our 2ers. The one my girlfriend has came with a strut brace as standard 😂
Plenty of people supercharging them do you have any plans? Only downside is the lack of power but one in your condition is really worth keeping. Try googling mx5 LS1 |

I drove one of those when the Miata first came out. Very light, nimble, immensely tossable - and underpowered. Even so I really enjoyed it. Reminded me of the early 60's British stuff, as well it should, being a Lotus Elan knockoff.
Miata has aged well looks wise and yours sounds like a clean example. It *badly* needs a set of original rims though - if you like the handling now, you'll ejaculate over it with a set of correctly sized rims and tires. IMO it could also stand to lose that chrome curvy thing behind the seats. |

The roll bar and rims gone next week. As for super charging it, not sure. Really don't wanna mod it as the car is super clean and will be driven occasionally, garaged of course. Just a toy to go to the beach with I guess..

i know ill probably get thrashed for this but I'm currently looking for an all original super clean 90-91 CRX Si or Civic Si, i had 2 of these EF civics, and an EG in my earlier years and they are just so much fun to drive, so simple, and the gas mileage is insanely awesome.
I know its not RWD or 50/50 balance but i love the nostalgia of these early 90's cars... course it probably is a generational thing, as I'm a child of the 80's.. Cant wait to see pics of the car with new/period correct wheels... |
