Using ios6 with Blutooth for Navigation
Wondering if anyone has figured what I'm trying to do out.
I do not have the Technology or Nav systems in my 2013 X3; however, I do have the enhanced Blutooth so I rely on using my phone for Nav which plays the audio through the cars sound system. The problem is when I have the volume turned down through the cars controls the Voice Navigation also gets quite. Does anyone know if there is a way to separately control the volume of the Voice Navigation independent of something like streaming music from my phone to the car? |

You can set the volume of the voice navigation independent of the radio volume. Use the "+ -" button on the steering wheel to adjust the volume while the nav voice is speaking. You have to do it while she is speaking or it will just change the radio volume. That setting should stick until you change it.
I have not tried this with the bluetooth nav setup you describe, so you'll have to check it to see if it works. |

I don't think you can adjust it from the steering wheel, because the phone's audio system is doing the mixing and the car radio is just playing the summed output from your phone. You may be able to adjust the spoken volume by pressing the + or - buttons on the side of the phone while the directions are speaking. If this doesn't work, I don't think there is a way to adjust the volumes separately. Depending on what the music comes from, there may be a volume adjustment slider there so you can turn down the music and leave the nav instructions at their normal volume.
