2009 Ignition Switch Replacement and Immobilizer Issue

The immobilizer is activated on the X3 (key fobs don’t work, car won’t start). This occurred after replacing the ignition switch. In hind sight, I did not disconnect the battery during the switch replacement, which probably set off the the immobilizer.

Any information on how to reset the immobilizer is appreciated. I currently only have a scanner (Ancel BM700); I’m several weeks away from getting set up with diagnostic/coding tools (INPA/ISTA/Tools) if that’s required, but hope there’s a simpler way to reset the immobilizer.

TIA, Ken

Follow up: Used INPA to reset the EWS module. If you’re a DIYer, INPA is well worth having in the toolkit.
