NAV Acting Strange
While I always thought not long after my purchase that the NAV in my 2012 2.8 X3 always paled in comparison to NAV in my 2006 Lexus SC 430 and the departed 2007 Honda CRV that I traded in for the X3, (now, I am even firmer in that point of view) I never had a problem with it until now.
The map is taking a long time to populate. I see the roads but the names are taking longer to be listed. The strangest part is that the map (which I have in North view) was pointing north but clearly in a southerly direction. I was traveling south (route 9 south for that matter) while the arrow was clearly facing the direction that I was traveling but the NAV was listing north! What's going on? |

Time for a visit to the dealer.

It has to be callibrated before first use and maybe this wasn't done correctly. If that's the case, it's a trip to the dealer.
If you haven't already then try a reset of iDrive by holding down the power button for 30 seconds and then drive somewhere with pretty clear line of sight to points in the sky (anywhere not built up) and switch it on and wait for a few minutes.
