A Flock of X3's
Arrived at the office one morning this week and just happened to park next to another X3, when I have to leave later in the day, a third had joined us. (Before anyone asks, I am not the one who cannot park )

The one in the middle is defensive parking. (park next to a wider gap, placed carefully away from the car on the right).
The car on the left is saying - I dont trust any of you at all but I am important enough to have two spots and you can all go jump. This is (in my opinion) a strategy that just invites the car keying criminals (may they all be audited by the ATO or IRS) to choose your car as a target.

As though that's unique to Boston? Not.

Yeah, like what JoeyO says.. I respect the guy on the left for wanting to prevent dings because Heaven knows that while we all have the utmost care when opening our doors, others don't seem to give a damn at all. But, c'mon that's just an invite to get keyed.

The parking spaces on the left are both too narrow. If buddy had moved to the right a bit more you gotta know some shit box would squeeze into the tiny spot.
I'm gonna need therapy when parking my X3... I'm still a weenie with my 8yr old honda. |

Likely a company lease. Obviously no skin in the game if they park like that.

Love all the comments! I agree, its a problem and not uncommon in Boston. I'm the guy who always parks as far away from anyone as possible, way out in left field and in one end space, not two... I agree that the guy who takes two spaces is asking for a permanent pin stripe applied by a key...

Seeing quite a bit of these out here in MI as well. For such a "new" model there sure are a lot of them.
One of the reasons I ordered the M-sport was so at least it would be a little different since all around here seem not to be. |
