Coding out brake alert light
We had our 2013 X3 brakes done at a local car shop and not at a BMW dealership. They didn't clear the changing of the brakes alert so now it comes up every time we start the car. I'd rather not bring it back to the stealership to get the code reset and pay $165 for tech time. What tool can I buy to clear that alert? Thanks.

It's easy. No codes to reset. You use the trip reset button. Turn the ignition, but not engine, on. Hold the reset button until the first of several reset items appears. If that is not the one you want, press and release the button once quickly to go to the next item. Once on the one you want it will say "Reset Possible." Hold the button down again until it says "Reset?" Press again and the reset will start.

That I do not know. I have not accessed the hidden menus. As I recall from reading, there really isn't much you can do there. The door locks may be able to be coded if you get the program to code with. I agree with you though. I hate that when I get out I can't open the back doors.

Thanks. Which adapter do you recommend?
