Just picked up my new car, love all the features I didn't have on my 2013: HUD, Active Drive assist... love the subtle but very noticeable upgrades from the LCI.

one thing I can't figure out is how to enable the old "office" functions for my iPhone.

In my 2013 I could read my text messages on the screen will all iPhones...

Is there a setting i am missing?

I have the full tech package, connected, etc...

I have a 2016 with all options except for 1 option that gives you the office in addition to other features. I think it's extended telephony or something like that. I saved myself the $600 and just coded to enable the feature. If you're familiar with coding, its quite simple to do.

OK, looks like I will need to learn to code, because I can't live with that that. Might come back to you one I get familiar with coding....

Question, when you go to the dealership and get oil change/service do you lose coding each time?

You need 6NS instead of 6NH from your list below when you code, you remove 6NH and replace with 6NS. It's quite easy, just get a cable first. There is lots of support on this board and others.

You don't always lose coding when u take ur car in, it depends on the service. For example, I've only had 1 sevice, which was an oil change. Now I'm at 17k and will have another service soon, which will be more than just an oil change and I may lose coding this time since I have a feeling they will update the software. I have a backup so I think I can just do a restore but I have a feeling it won't be that easy since I have over 100 items coded. I'll let you know when I know!

You will only lose coding if the dealer updates the software. The dealer will not update the software unless there is a problem with your X3 for which the resolution requires a software update.
