I just ordered my 2015 X3 last week and it won't be here for another 10 weeks.

I read this entire 14 page thread and I'm now excited for features I didn't know I was going to have! Thanks for that!

Now to somehow make the next 10 weeks fly by...

Hey all,

Just wondering if the side mirrors setting are linked to keyfob? I vaguely remember seeing mirrors move on its own when using my dad's key fob (2ndary) to unlock the car. I've since tried to get it to do it again with the 2nd key fob after using my key (primary), but no luck.

I believe memory seats, 8 button presets, radio presets, light settings, are linked to key fob. Anything else I'm missing?

Mirrors are linked to the seat memory. Set it to what you want and then press and save with the memory buttons on the seat.

The secondary keyfob will need to have different seat memory settings for it to move automatically.

I discovered this too a few days ago and to add to it - it worked for me even if I had my iPhone as the secondary phone and connected via USB (for Connected Apps). (I have an Android as the primary phone.)

Small but great "nice feature" , turn car on leave car and be able to lock it with key in hand - great for defrosting the car without worry of someone jacking it...

Just got mine and it's constantly throwing nice surprises at me. This may be common knowledge (but wasn't to me) but the Pro Nav will happily play DVD videos, complete with DVD menu navigation etc.

ConnectedDrive fixes my Galaxy S5 woes and it now functions exactly like the iPod I was using complete with cover art, track lists etc.

ConnectedDrive also gives me access to the work calendar from my phone on the car's display. More worringly it also has Facebook integration.

You probably all know this - it's just stuff I wasn't expecting.

After opening the door locks with Comfort Access, and not pulling the handle to open the door, after say 5 minutes the doors lock by themselves.

It's not just a comfort locking feature, they should do that even if you open the the door with the remote control

It's a security feature to counter inadvertent unlocking e.g. if the remote button gets pressed while the key's in a pocket or handbag - I think ours relocks after 2 minutes but this may vary between countries

There is a setting to switch this on/off in iDrive.

Can anyone confirm if this works even without the Connected Apps feature?

I ordered the nav package in my 2015 but didn't get the extra feature to add a second phone. I have an iPhone and would LOVE to be able to access Siri directly!!!

a few disadvantages I discovered:
'Launch spotify' 'I'm afraid I can't help you with that while you are in the car'.
Launching spotify manually works, but commands like 'skip song' are so slow that it's more convenient to use the non voice controls.

When I tested my friend's X3, I was disappointed to see that hand brake is not released on start. Then I tested again on mine with seat belt on, and got pleasantly surprised

Hooked up my iPhone though USB and started Spotify. After a few km's i had to unplug my phone. The music stopped of course but after a few seconds, the phone had re-connected via BT and voilá, Spotify started playing again, from the very same spot. Spotify specific things like playlists etc. disappeared from iDrive but Next/Previous from the steering wheel worked.

Nice surprise: if you didn't get the comfort access option you still have comfort access for starting the car (no keys inserted anywhere). So comfort access really is just the door handle unlock vs fob button. (X4)

Think you also get the tailgate opening feature by waving your foot with comfort access.

If you have a Samsung Note 4 (and I presume other Samsung android phones as well) connected as your first phone via Bluetooth - holding down the voice command button will bring up either S-Voice or Google (as opposed to Siri if you have an iPhone). Now, this isn't that much of a blessing when you realize that most of S-Voice responses are visual and the Google only allows for voice dialing. What it needs to do is to activate Google Now - so that it would be like saying Ok Google to your phone - which is much more useful on the level of Siri.
