Zenon headlights

Hi,

I realize that all the M sport 28i x3s do not come with xenon headlights. Is it possible to get the dealer to install and program zenon headlight assemblies to the car?

Thanks

In a word, yes, it's possible to retrofit.

It's not a mod for the faint of heart. A few folks have done it already but it's an involved upgrade. You could check the F30 (3 series) boards for some examples.

You just after the halo look or wanting more light output?

I'll jump in on this. I came from xenons in my Saab and miss them terribly. The headlights are my only complaint on myF25 so far.

ANy other non-xenon options?

I can give you first-hand experience, and will echo what n55x3 said to check out the F30 board for examples. I just sold my '12 F30 328i sport which I ordered from the factory. I loved this car, but I have to tell you, every day I looked at it I couldn't get over the fact that it had the base halogens. The cheapest aftermarket (which IMO are not up to snuff with the OEM zenon's) were more than $1400. Dealer cost to upgrade to OEM's would be at least double that. My advice is it really is worth spending the extra $$ to get what you want when you buy the car. I learned the hard way. I've ordered an X3 with all the options I want because I want to be completely happy with it.

Just sayin', if you're already asking the question, order or buy one that already has the zenon's.

Yeah, what I've come to realize is that the Msport 35i mostly come with zenons. Also, when I asked a dealer about a 2015 x5 base regarding installing a back up cam. He told me that it would have to be aftermarket.

All X3 35i models come with HIDs standard, not just MSport 35i models.

Pretty much all BMW's with the N55 motor come with standard HIDs and halos.
