SOS button is dead on a new delivery :(
I just picked up my new X3 yesterday..yay!
I was playing around with all the features and noticed at the SOS button doesn't work at all. I need to call bmw assist to activate the features from the car but the pressing the button does nothing, not even holding it down for many seconds. The green light also never lights up. I'm wonder if the dealer forgot to activate something? They cant help me until monday so i'm wondering if there is something i can do myself? |

At the BMW USA web page it states: "Simply call the BMW Assist™ response center, or press the SOS button to speak with a response specialist who can activate the service in your vehicle without any visit required to a BMW center." If your SOS button does not work, you might be able to telephone BMW Assist Customer Care. In Canada the web page states: "BMW Assist provides an extensive range of services and benefits* to help in the event of an emergency. Log in to My BMW to check the status of your subscription. For more information, contact an authorized BMW Retailer, or call BMW Assist toll-free at 1-800-493-4070." The hours for phone service may be limited. http://www.bmw.ca/en/topics/owners/o...MW-Assist.html Last edited by MichiganMike; 01-30-2016 at 11:38 AM.. |

One additional thought, is your car parked in a parking garage or other area where BMW Assist may not operate?
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...AssistFAQ.aspx Are there service limitations? Yes. In order for the system to work properly, GPS and underlying wireless services must be available and functioning; your vehicle ignition must be turned on (except for door unlock and stolen vehicle recovery services), battery charged and connected, and vehicle's electrical system operational; due to wireless carrier coverage, services may be limited in certain geographic areas. All services are subject to the terms and conditions of your subscriber agreement. |
