Yep I drove a 650 Convertible in Miami for 2 days and felt the same lag.
I haven't had an issue with lag or throttle tip-in-delay; in fact, it's more responsive than my N55, particularly at lower RPM.

Oh then you don't need to worry about the aforementioned "lag", as it is typical of "luxury" cars, not sport cars... The M is tuned to be much more "direct". Other cars just compromise for a more civil and relaxed use, to make them more comfortable and with less jolts.

Congrats on the beautiful car by the way. Awesome. Enjoy it in good health.

I actually think the opposite is true- there is dye transfer, but that wipes off with water (as Dakota is heavily treated). The seats on the X3 I traded in look new.

Meanwhile, black seats contrast with every spec of sand, dirt, pet hair, etc. They also more obviously age and are more susceptible to sun damage/fading- creases are far less apparent on lighter colors.

Would add that one of the great things about Oyster is that only the seats and upper door cards are Oyster, everything else is black (the stuff you want dark, like foot wells).

+1 Agreed!
I would get Oyster over black again lol.
Sure you can tell when Oyster gets something but that also means you'll get it cleaned quicker.
Now for folks with kids I understand their reasoning for going with Dark.
I'm going Mocha or Saddle on my next, and preferably Red if its offered.

I've had black on black cars twice, silver on black once, and now White on oyster and life its much easier dealing with interior than exterior =D

I totally disagree with this.

I find black interiors look grubby far quicker.

Most of the dirt you see is actually quite light, it shows up far more on black carpet etc. than a light one.

Also, if you get a mark on light leather you can see it and wipe it off straight away. On black it hides it better, but you tend to get a bigger build up of dirt and it looks tired far quicker.

The only issue is on overdyed denim it can transfer especially if you get caught in the rain, but a quick wipe with a baby wipe and it looks new again.

This was my old E Class estate at 8 years old and 120,000 miles, it was almost like new and I cleaned once every month or two...

And this was my old ML that I only just got rid of this year, this is at 14 years old...

After buying this C Class with black interior I am never buying another car with black again, I find it incredibly hard to keep looking good.

That's the one- It does have comfort access. Here's the short version of the packages and options (MSRP was >$60k)... screenshots of the original order, exterior and screen grabs of the interior (don't have interior shots handy) below.

Cold Weather Package
Dynamic Handling Package
Premium Package (includes comfort access)
Technology Package
Driver's Assistance Package

Harmon Kardon
Surround View
Smart Phone Integration
Rear Manual Side Window Shades

Very nice car!
I have every option as well except mine is 2014, AW on Oyster and its 28i.
But added RaceChip 3 months after owning drove it for about another 15k miles with RC on it and solid, MPG improved, I was just as fast as a 35i. But now Enzo Downpipes & EnzoTuned I'm faster than 35i :thump:
I try to get rid of it, but the deals I keep seeing are just awful so I'm staying with baby.
Friend at MB dealership gave me good trade-in # tried to get me on a C450 AMG 2016 but I said if I'm going MB it'll be GLA 45 AMG

Glad you're enjoying your X3!

I hear you on trade prices. I took a pretty big hit on this X3 to take advantage of year-end incentives on the X5M.

On engine choice; the 28i pairs well with the X3, but the difference in power, power delivery (urgency/willingness to rev) and smoothness (never feels taxed) with the 35i is really remarkable. You can't replicate that experience by simply upping the boost on a 4cyl motor.

At legal speeds- the X3 w/N55 and DHP feels nearly as potent as my X5M.

Wow. Very nice! I'll need to trade in my f10 if I need to jump on this. I'll probably get rapped on my trade but your car is very tempting!

Can't hurt to ask. Car is flawless. I even paid out of pocket for extra oil/filter changes (one at 1200 miles, and then every 5-7000 miles).

Good luck!
