07 E83 X3 Overheating question

Hey gang,

I am new to the forum and mostly new to the world of BMW, I have an 07 X3 that I have had for the past 3ish years without incident that has developed an overheating problem that I cant get to the bottom of.

after a bit of driving, temps climb to 235ish and sometimes as high as 250 if I am driving up a steep long windy hill. I feel like the temp gauge would have climbed into the red if I had let it. the issue seems to be the most pronounced when under load, even when moving. At a red light temps drop down a bit.

Here is what I have done so far;

Replaced thermostat

Confirmed that the water pump is working

Bled the system properly

Replaced engine coolant temp sensor

Replaced rad fan (it was found to be not working)

My observations are:

Engine oil and Coolant are the right colours and flavours

No leaks or consumption of coolant

No coolant smell

What is a reasonable next step or tests I could do?

How about checking to see if your fan is functioning.
Of course you've run the scanner...what fault codes were discovered?
