Wheel Spacers for M

Hey guys,

Was considering getting spacers for my X3.

It has the 19" M wheels and i was wondering if anyone has tried 20 MM spacers in the rear and 15 MM in the front? Would that make it nice and flush?

I'm curious about this too!

I did 12mm/15mm w/ stock Msport 20"s and thought that really looked nice. But ultimately just got new wheels with proper offset!

I have heard that adding spacing will cause the wheel angle out of spec during corning. So it will affect the tire worn out and handling.

I just realized i have 2 spacers from my E46.. these should fit on the X3 no problem right?

5x120 HUB 72.5 T15

15 MM^ I can use those for the front and get 20MM for the back.

I installed 15mm/20mm front/back spacers on my wife's X3. We've logged about 1500 miles and haven't had any issues with wear or drive-ability. This weekend, we even took the X3 up in snow country and with Yoko W-Drive tires, the X3 did fantastic. Just make sure the spacers you get are hub-centric and that you use the proper extended lugs.

Front on 15mm:

Rear on 20mm (it actually looks more flush "in-person" as the angle I took is slightly misleading):

Wouldn't an alignment take care of any concern.

I bought them from eBay. Just make sure they are hub-centric and the correct length bolts. A set of four spacers/bolts should not run you more than $120.

Looks good, zcspec. Can you tell us how much clearance to the fender wells the outside edge of the front tires have at full lock in either direction?

I'm looking to do a nicely stanced setup like that myself, eventually, with 275/40/19 on the stock M Sport wheels at all four corners. Glad to see somebody's done some of the ground work.

I just got a 2013 X3 M Sport with the 19s and the previous owner replaced the tires. They are 245s all around, not staggered wider in the back. Was the staggered wider rears an option? Did the M sport 19s come with rims different widths front to rear?

Staggered wider rears is an option for the M sport. The rear rims are 9.5 offset vs 8.5 in the front and the tires are 275/40 vs 245/45

Yup mine is 245 all around... easier to use than having staggered

Ours is 245 all around as well. If you do go staggered, just be very cautious on xDrive models; make sure your front/rear revolutions are within 1%, otherwise you're stressing tranny.
