19-20" wheel & tyre advice 2007 3.0SD
Hi all,
My first post and I'm asking for help. I am in the process of purchasing a 2007 3.0SD M Sport (collecting at the weekend) and really want to upgrade the wheels and tyres to add a little beef. I found this forum and a number of posts regarding wheels/wheel sizes for the later X3 models but not a huge amount on the E83. I have considered 19" wheels, which are just 1" larger than my M Sport OEM's currently fitted and also 20" wheels that may look better (to some) but may have an impact on ride quality/hanling/any (limited) off road excursions. The 20" wheels I like are specced as follows 8.5j x 20 ET35 front and 10.5 x 20 ET35 rear. The dealer selling them says they will fit my car no problem and should be mated with 245/40R20 and 275/35R20 non runflats to fit them. Having read all the issues about clearances and also making sure the tryes are same brand, tread and radius to avoid transfer box/tyre pressure monitor issues I'm worried that this might be the wrong way to go, as recommendations are @8.5j et45 (FR) and 9.5j et38 (R). Can anyone offer help from experience? Many thanks in advance! |

My 2007 X3 SD has the 19" M-Sport wheels
The only downside is you only have one tyre choice Pirelli Last month I needed new tyres and the best deal I could get for all four was £750 Tyres Front - 235/45R 19 Pirelli Pzero Rosso * 95W Rear - 255/40/19 Pirelli Rosso * 96W They suit SE models as well (this is my old 2.0d) Last edited by jagr; 02-16-2017 at 10:10 AM.. |
