2012 X3 281i Alternative Wheel/Tire?
I have a 2012 X3 281i with the stock unidirectional 5 spoke, 17' wheels. I would like to upgrade both wheels and tires to at least an 18' wheel or even a 19' if possible, without major issues other than swapping the new tires/wheels. I like the OEM wheel look but would like a slightly bigger wheel and tire.
I talked to Originalwheels.com and they suggested staying with the 43mm offset my 17" wheel currently has in an 18' OEM wheel (I like the 10 spoke OEM). First, would that 43mm wheel offset be a limiting factor? Second, I am looking for an All Season Tire for my area's weather. I've had great luck with Goodyear Assurance Weather Ready tires on my previous MDX and would prefer those but its not an option in my primary size, 245/50/R18 or the listed alternative, 255/45/R18. There are other tire sizes in my preferred tire in the 245 and 255 categories but I have no clue if they will fit. Anyone guidance on alternative sizes outside of what Discount Tire/Goodyear/Tire Rack recommends? Thanks in advance. Mike |

A site like wheel-size.com will show you all the standard and optional factory fitments.
