Recirculating Air Filter

Hi,

I bought a pair of replacement Air Filters for the air conditioning system on my X3 F25 30D but can't get them to fit.

RealOEM and other sites listed the part # as BMW 64119237159 - Mann CU-1721. However, the original filter is a bit curved and is flexible but the new one is stiff and just won't go into the slot. (photo below)

I can't read the part number on the original filter. Does anyone know what the correct number is? Thanks.

Your new filter looks like mine (35i).

I suspect there are different filters diesel/petrol?

Your original filter looks like it could still work satisfactory.

It was black and full of dust when I took it out. Since the new ones didn't fit, I soaked them in a mild detergent mix and rinsed them out.
Looks clean now.

That is the correct number.
Mann may just have updated the design a bit.

New filters are often a little stiff and fit snugly.

The new filter does say CU-1721 on the side ?

Yes, it does say CU-1721 on the side..
It doesn't flex, instead bends so I'm worried to slide it into the holder lest it gets stuck.
