With regard to the X3/4- there's no 35d (aka 30d) in the US, just a 28d, which is the 20d globally.

The N55 PPK exists for most models. I'm guessing that the omission here has to do with differentiating the forthcoming X4 M Performance. Which, like the M235i, may be a PPK'd (with a better crank etc) version of the N55 (or B58?).

Umm well I wont speculate on that because I don't know. I just know that in the US they market the 30d engine as 35d. That and the X3 in the US doesn't get the 30d engine, it's the 20d engine badged as 28d. If you were hoping for x3 35d in the US I don't think it will happen with the current gen.

I don't get exactly the point for the 30d PPK as 35d is available. Even more, there is an Alpina XD3 available too.
On the other hand the 35i is the top petrol engine so they should release an MPPK for it! We'll see the M40i soon, so the mistake will be solved |

I think the M40i is the reason the 35i doesn't get a PPK- too similar.

The diesel engine range in the rest of world (outside the US) is quite large: 16d - 118hp 18d - 152hp 20d - 193hp 25d - 221hp 30d - 262hp (255hp in the US) 35d - 317hp (same engines, different badging across models) 40d - 317hp (same engines, different badging across models) The cost of fuel in Europe is very high, so as much as we all love petrol engined cars, many diesel versions actually make more sense e.g. 640d over the 640i. 320d over the 320i. I've got a C63 at the moment that drinks like fish, but goes next month to be replaced with a 640d.

Atleast in Finland, 30d with PPK is actually the smartest model, the cost of it is only +1200€ and you will get then 286hp and 600Nm. X4 35d (313hp) model instead costs +10000€ more than X4 30d.

@TurboT: I've checked the German configurator before posting, it was a 5000 Euro difference between X4 30d (55.500) and X4 35d (60.500).
So the price of PPK is quite good |

No tune for the 28i/35i. That IMO is a huge FAIL. M40i is not going to be enough. BMW blows the competition out of the water with the SAP in 2011 and in less than 4 years have fallen behind. So sad to watch as the wallets get fat.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to do this upgrade in another country while the car is still under factory warranty?! Called my local BMW workshop and they have no info at all about this 3.0d PPK yet...

On bmw.de you can now download the new accessoiries catalogue and price list valid until August 2015.
Here are the links: the Catalogue http://www.bmw.de/dam/brandBM/market...3766901547.pdf the Price List: http://www.bmw.de/dam/brandBM/market...5890375091.pdf Some interesting things: - BMW M*Performance Drive Analyser (for IOS and Android devices) - BMW M*Performance KlappenschalldämpferSystem (18 30 2 359 003)Für den BMW X4 xDrive35i. - BMW M*Performance Track Fix für GoPro Kameras The only MPPK listed is the one for the 30d engine. Still nothing about one for the 35i engine, and nothing about the Bluetooth exaust for the 35i. |

After comparing the product number 18 30 2 359 003 with the document of the M Performance Exhaust system that leaked a few monthes ago on a polish website, it appears to be the same part. So this is the Exhaust with BT for the 35i

Just today called to my dealer and they said that MPPK 30d is again postponed, first estimate was January, then April, and now July.

yes very curious I tested yesterday evening at home with my android tablet and only the link of the catalogue was working. I wanted to reply yesterday but the forum is not very Android friendly. I tested this morning (Win 8.1 Pro & IE 11) both links work. Tell me if it is still not your case. |
