Do you recognize this vehicle part?
Dear fellow X3 owners,
I just had my new X3 for 6 weeks and a week ago had it installed with the DVD tablet, which is included as a bonus from the dealer. After the trip to the workshop, I began to hear some noises whenever passing through uneven roads. However, I cant quite put my fingers to where the noise is coming from. I think it comes from somewhere deep inside the driver's side dashboard, it sounds like some parts were not properly tightened back after they installed the tablet. 2 days after the installation, when I was driving slow, I heard something underneath. I found these: Front view Rear view It looks like a grill to me, but am not entirely sure if it is a part of the X3, as it might be just a random fall out from any other vehicle and I just happened to roll over it. Asking the experts here, if anyone of you recognize the part in the photo. Is it a part of the X3 or is it not? Any help would be appreciated. |

Definitely not part of the X3.
However it looks very much like the lower grill section on front of a '97 - '00 E39 5 Series. The two holes on the top can be released to remove the fog light for lamp replacement. I'm sure it just dropped in the box as they were packaging up your part.
