2011 X3 35i

100% city driving in Chicago:
11.2-14.7 mpg

If I'm out on the highway I can get 18 mpg.

2014 Xdrive28i

8K miles lifetime with 90% city driving (Miami FL): 17 mpg

in Summer:
- Highway: 22-23 mpg
- City: 16-17 mpg

note: My commute is only 5 miles (short trips) with crazy city traffic, and in summer time very hot, so that might explain it

That's my point too. I didn't buy a BMW because it would be so fuel efficient . I couldn't care less.
I have a petrol version too, so it uses a lot of gas. I don't know how much, but I think about 10 liters / 100 km. On the Autobahn with speeds up to 200 kmh it uses about ...... a lot.

Garage List

2015 BMW X3   [0.00]
Currently sitting at about 38 mpg (UK)

On the motorway I will see about 44 mpg going with the flow or about 41 mpg if pressing on

Town driving/school run kills it though
