Paddle shifters?

I don't see the reason for replacing the wheel.

Personal preference and adding unique flair?

While I prefer the beefiness of the stock one, modding’s all about getting the ideally suited customized, personalized ride, right? I like having the paddles, but wish they were in fixed location on the shaft, not the wheel. I’ve yet to come across someone who made that mod

Why would you want the paddle shifters in a fixed location on the shaft? Your hands should be moving with the wheel, hence moving with the paddle shifters. If they were fixed and you were turning and wanted to shift you would have to take your hand off the wheel to use them.

Yep, the paddle shifters suck on the x3 anyways. I don't know anyone who uses them. Now the paddles on my Lamborghini, that's another story!

When the paddles are on the column it's better for racing or track driving. Ideally, you are to keep your hands near 9 and 3 on the wheel even while turning. Having the paddles set in one place all the time makes it significantly easier to shift instead of hunting for them if they are mounted on the wheel.

Personal preference at the end of the day. Something neat that Mclaren does with their paddles (mounted on the column) is they are attached together. Meaning, you can use them normally or if you push the paddle on the right it will downshift or push the left paddle and it will upshift. Very cool that you can use one hand to do it.

The Gallardo paddles really did not impress me. I was looking at one and gave up hunting for 3 pedals and the paddles were too lackluster for me to enjoy. I did like the column mount though.

I really like My GT3 rs paddles and also love my cayenne paddles. I wish they were column mounts.

Model X paddles take the cake though! lol

I think the E90 or E92 335i paddles were like that where you could pull/push each for both up/down shift, no? (That’s what I remember from a friend’s 335i coupe anyways)

I have the KLM paddles on my Gallardo. They are very similar to the Aventador. Huge upgrade over stock!
