New to the N20 X3...

Hey, I'm not an owner yet but thinking of downsizing from my '15 X5 35i to a '14 X3 28i. I have owned a 128i, 335i X1 35i and the X5 35i. I loved every one of them and honestly, when I drove the 28i, I loved that one too.

I've been reading over the forums and noticed timing chain issues, but what else should I look for/ask about for the 28i? Whats the preventative maintenance for he timing chain? Chain guides? If so, at what point? I have alot of experience with the N55, but really nothing with the N20.

Help please!

Get a 2015 or newer, the timing chain guides were updated in March 2015, IIRC. Otherwise get the 35i.
Frequent oils changes may help. You can also preemptively change the guides to the new style. I would just get the 35i instead of spending more $$ on the maintenance or buy a newer 28i with the improved guides.
