Anybody know how to add extra USB

Hi Guys!

I tried adding a USB (4) hub inside the armrest connection but no success. It won's read my ipod and usb key. Is there any way to add more USB input so I don't have to disconnect my iPod everytime I want to use a USB stick/key?

Thanks!

System will accept USB hub if it can handle multiple USB ports, its not just a HW implementation. I am not sure of the OS used in iDrive. It looks as if it has dedicated ports type of implementation.

Having two USB devices connected at the same time will probably confuse the iDrive system which was most likely designed to expect only one. Off the top of my head, the only solution I can think of that may work would be some sort of KVM type switch which allows you to connect multiple devices simultaneously but only passes through one device at a time (you select which port to be the active one).

Not elegant, but quite inexpensive and should allow you to easily switch between an iPod and a USB flashdrive.

Thanks all for the response and suggestions.
