Back in late 80's early 90's Newark NJ and surrounding towns were number 1 in car theft/jacking. Was well known if you planned an insurance fraud that's where it was going to happen My gti was broken into broad day light 20 yards from court house; stole my radio. |

That is insane, amazing build quality and safety, great for my family, gutting that the scumbag thief benefited from it!!

Why steal an SUV?
I am mad that the thief only had a broken arm. He should have lost all his limbs so he can't drive anymore. The world is not fair. |

What an idiot. You never ever leave a car running and unattended for even a second.

After settling the claim the insurance company should drop her like a bad habit.

You can't defend leaving you car unlocked. It's a reason for keyless entry.
You simply touch the ribs on the door handle. It's UNACCEPTABLE PERIOD. Just one slip up and it's over. Treat it like crossing the street. You Gon ALWAYS look both ways. Yes mistakes happen. But leaving a CAR unattended shouldn't be one of them. #zerotolerance |

Too bad she didn't have a 1980s Ford Explorer. The thief would have died and nobody would have cared. Instead, he will go to jail for a few years and be right back out doing the same thing.

...a lazy person leaves their car unlocked and running. Perhaps she is just extremely naive. Either way though!
The thief deserved to die and would have in a lesser vehicle. At least prosecutors can expedite the charges.

Jesus christ, wish we had a shot of what happened before the flipping.
When is the part out?

The owner was lucky that she did not leave a baby in the car. Can't imagine how a small kid would fare in such a horrific crash

I don't get why all the hate for leaving the car running. Some don't want to stop and start their engines constantly and some might want to keep the car warm in freezing weather. Isn't this why we pay for insurance? People acting like the poor lady is at fault and the thieves aren't to blame for a thing. Please get off your high horses before bad luck comes your way and knocks you off.

Are you an insurance adjuster?
If the lady was held at gunpoint instead, would insurance deny her a claim because the "car was running?" Some really stupid comments and arguments here.
