Yes i think it looks less sporty rather then more. The side view especially i find it heavy, and the back of the SE i think it looks much better too. Im glad ive changed my order from M to SE. Also, what the point in having all those M logos on something which is just comsethic, the risk is to look like a poor man X3M

and you can always buy the M badges off market.

Wow. It somehow it makes it worth the wait. I really feel for those who didn't have the option to order the M-sport. It's a totally different beast with the M-sport.

I think most people that have ordered the SE wouldn't change it for an M Sport because of all of the reasons mentioned in this thread, so I wouldn't feel too sorry for us

It's all a matter of opinion and it would be a boring world if we all liked one model over another, or if we all liked the same colour

I look forward to seeing the M Sport in real life, and a new X3 other than my own would be nice too!

A minor point, but one of the nice things about the MSport (at least in Canada) is that you get an anthracite roof liner. I am not a fan of the standard grey roof liner, and think the anthracite is better with any interior color combo. Most ppl on these forums (other models) also prefer the anthracite roof.

As to badging, there are no exterior "M" badges on the MSport, I doubt many ppl get the MSport for the "badge".

I have no massive preference, but over the SE 20d, I would have ordered these M items anyway - 18" wheels (but a bit underwhelmed about run flats), Performance Control, Roof rails and Exterior in High-gloss Shadowline, Sport seats, Brushed Alum Trim, upgraded Steering Wheel, Headlining, Anthracite (maybe). Not worried about badges.

M bodystyling - the big debate. Looks great to me, easier to clean, (black trim might show polish marks if I were in a hurry). Contrary to some I think colour coded wheel arches will make the wheels look bigger or at least the wheel arches look smaller.

Totally agreed!
I love the Msport especially it cost more of less the same if going for Dynamic package, Xline, brush alu trim and chrome extaust tip...almost free body kit for a BMW.
4 months extra wait for me

What is it about these 2 pics that make the 2 m sports look so different?

Is it just the angle of the shot? The first pic of the m sport looks way sportier and more aggressive.

Angle, proximity to the front end, tinting.

The angle almost makes it look entirely like a different car. I love the way the top pic looks!

Agree, but would say second is a more typical viewing angle and distance.

I think the first photo is taken with a wide angle lens and the image has the fisheye effect and hence looks wider.

It seems I was staring at the X3 more than the 1 M coupe in the background. Both great cars, I just really like the Msport X3

Funny, but me too. These photos were what made me place my order. I also could have had my dealer's ONE allocated 1 M Coupe, but I stuck with the practical/sporty over the sporty/impractical.

I am now officially old.

Good choice! I've seen about 4-5 X3 M-sports in person now and everytime I see it I say to myself if I was to get one SUV/SAV in BMW's range, it'd be the X3 M-sport hands down

Jason - I think I might owe you commission on the sale (or perhaps my CA owes you). Thanks for posting these, and for making me spend so much money!! I am looking forward to posting some photos of mine.
