Scratch in a place I didn't want to scratch
Hey all. I've owned my 2011 X3 for 11 months now (weird - its a 2011 model that i've had for 11 months and already the 2013's are out.).
35i, most options in Alpine white and red leather, and no issues what so ever in my 11 months of ownership. None. Great car. I have waxed it a few times and hand wash it often. A few days ago I was detailing the interior and accidentally, SCRATCHED THE CLEAR PLASTIC THAT COVERS THE SPPEDO, TACH, ETC... its about 2.5 inches long and goes right across my line of sight, across the battery regen area. i don't think it can be buffed out nor would i know how to buff it out. Can they replace just the plastic? I dont see how they can do that, but any opinions. Really bummed as I am a nut about keeping it clean, etc... |

Have a look over here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do and see if the part can be ordered.

If the dealer can't help, jewellers sell very fine scratch remover polish to get scratches out of plastic watch glass. Risky, but worth a try if all else fails. Maybe ask the dealer if they have a scrap instrument cluster/ binnacle you could test your purchase on? Here's an example from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Polywatch-Ac...4478474&sr=8-2
