The more I read up about this F-Pace, the more I like. A huge boot with a V6 twin-turbo diesel engine more than a match for the 30d and 35d X3/X4. I've just noticed on Australian-spec F-Pace is the option of a full size spare (a space saver is standard). On paper it looks the goods. Will certainly consider this later this year when it arrives downunder. Hopefully by that time we'll have some more detail about the next generation X3 for comparison.

I imagine Jag F-PACE enthusiast gatherings where owners get their Tatas out - Mardi Gras beads optional.

A friend of mine had bought a new Jag once (about 1996 it was). After 5 years, he wanted to buy a Mercedes. The Merc dealer didn't even bother to have a look at his car. The salesman just laughed and asked if it was Aprils fools day again.....
Completely different here now... It's a premium brand with some cracking cars. The F pace will sell shed loads.

I built one that I like. It came out to $53,890. Coincidentally, the '13 X3 Msport in the garage retailed almost exactly that price. Not bad.

I followed a pre production F pace up the A55 and in to the port at Holyhead and then sat behind it onto the ferry across to Dublin over the Xmas holidays.

Granted this was a fairly plain one, but it had the look of a bloated XF to me, particularly from the rear 3/4

I was behind it for about an hour either moving or sitting in the ferry queue and had plenty of time to mull it over

It definitely looks like a jag, very similar to the XF but from the quick peek of the interior it looked very like the new XE inside

I thought it looked OK but it certainly didn't wow me.

My wife's response was "what's special about that then" when the excited "boy car spotter" in me pointed it out to her

I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product, but as others have said the X3 is such a fantastic all round car

The pressure is on Bmw now .. Space, GLC, Q5, Macan and disco sport

I'm hoping the next X3 will be immense

As an aside I saw one of the new Mercedes GLC models the other day ..

And that did look very nice, but with the hideous iPad type screen, which I don't think I could live with

I like it at first glance, but the more I look at it the more it begins to look like a Mazda (and I'm a fan of Jaguar's current lineup overall).

I said it before in another post but I really do think that these will begin to look dated a year after launch. The design might have been radical when they started development on it three or four years ago but the swoopy high belt, low roof CUV look is way too commonplace anymore.

A move back to more traditional looking boxier vehicles might actually be a refreshing change of pace at this point.

Also, I bet the narrow rear window and very tiny rear-quarter windows gets tired really quick. At a certain point, I'd rather have functionality over style.

Saw my first undisguised one this weekend. A very good looking car.

uh, for those who saw it in person, does the F-Pace look like a RR-Evoque (size/height wise)??

The Evoque looks too small and too low for me, I hope the F-Pace doesn't look like that...

No it doesn't. Much more X3 size, and possibly slightly bigger.

Very similar in size to X3/Q5 from what I saw
