2017 N20 Operating Water Temperature

I have a ScanGuage from my old car that replaced by the X3 a couple years ago, and finally got a chance to install it on the X3. To my surprise, the X3 operating temperature varies quite a bit, especially when the gas paddle was depressed the water temperature goes north of 220F. (The ambient temperature was around 90F, and totally flat road condition). That's usually the alarming level for my other cars. But I think this might be normal for N20 (maybe something to do with turbo) as the car drives perfect normal and no warning light what so ever. Does anyone else notice the higher temperature for X3?
