2007 X3 Diagnostics

Hello

Would either of these cables/software work for my 2007 X3 E83 2.0 diesel? Specifically I want to be able to reset the oil service light and check for bmw specific diagnostic codes (e.g. faulty light bulb is on but all appear to be ok). I know my car falls on the year when the protocol changed (I believe) so wanted to check before buying:

Second one will work but you need BMW software
