Brand new 2012 X3 iPod Issues
I did a quick search but didn't turn up anything good... My car is brand new and in this car just like my old one I use an 120GB iPod Classic (that is filled). The iDrive sees the iPod fine and plays fine but randomly the iPod would reboot on it's own.
In my old car, maybe once a month the iPod would lock up and I would need to reboot it and I was told by Acura it was because of the amount of data on the iPod but I lived with it. In this car it actually reboots on its own but happened 3 times over 10 minutes. I thought maybe the iPod was dying so I tried a nano I had laying around and surprisingly the same issue. I am using an Apple iPod USB cable and am thinking about just trying to find a new cable. |

I forgot that I had this problem a couple of times with my 80GB classic until I read this post. After rebooting the iPod several times, I started making it a habit of plugging it in the USB port before starting the car and removing it after after shutting down the car. I don't know if this is the solution, but like I wrote I haven't had any problems since.

Same problem here, annoying as can be. Sometimes it works great (for a week or more), then it reboots as soon as "CD" is selected or the car is turned on.
I haven't yet been able to get it to recover without shutting off the car. |
